Who Is Captain Zammie Anyway?

Captain Zammie is the nickname for Phil Zamagias. I am a 48 year old pilot with an Air Transport Pilot Licence and over 5,000 hours of flying experience. I was originally an aircraft maintenance engineer with QANTAS, licensed on Boeing 747's.

I also worked as the Communications Officer for the Church Missionary Society, NSW, but still maintained a strong interest in aviation.

I have also been a Missionary Pilot in Arnhem Land for seven years and so you can probably guess that I am a Christian too.

I now work for the Bible Society In Australia as the Director of Northern Territory and Outback Ministry (aka The Flying BibleMan). This involves flying a Piper 6XT (have a look at my new aeroplane) around the Outback of Australia, taking God's Word to those who live in isolated places. I cover approximately 40% of Australia's land area from Broome in West Australia, throughout the entire Northern Territory and also far north Queensland and into the Torres Strait Islands.
